grandma janine
Here are our beauties with Grandma Janine! She came up to help with little Josy and today was her last day. My mom is a pretty, energetic and loving Grandma- the girls miss her already! Back in California she will return to helping my brother prepare for his mission and to rehearsals for Joseph and Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in which she has the role of Potiphar's wife!

uncle scott
Uncle Scotty! My littlest brother, Scott , came to visit for a week- he is mission bound and this is the last time for us to see him before he leaves. His call is due in this next month. Myka and Haily had a grand time playing with him and he proved to be quite helpful when I needed him to hold Josy. Thank you Scotty!

week #1
Here she is! Josette Elizabeth Mariana Gary! She is a dream and we are having a wonderful time welcoming her to our family. Here are some assorted pics from her first week.
Killing time during labor- what a sweet hub.
When contractions started at 4:30 Friday morning I was sure I was dreaming them because it would just be too weird to have baby come on Sep. 11th- my birthday and my Dad's! (The nurses ordered us a little cake.)
Five minutes old.
Haily and Myka both had a cough and slight fever so they were very careful and wore the blue masks...
Time to go! We went home the next day at 2pm- I am so thankful for good health and a strong little baby.

josette gary
Introducing the newest Gary baby...
Baby Josy was born on Marianne's birthday (Sept. 11th) which also happens to be "Papa" Eric's birthday, thus completing three generations born on the same day!
8 lbs
19.5 " long
Dark brown hair (and lots of it!)

cannon beach
It is always fun to stroll along the shops at Cannon Beach. (Myka got quite a few compliments on her outfit that she chose herself- mini shorts and eskimo boots.)
Awesome.
My six year old is quite the botanist. She is extremely interested in all plant life- especially flowers. These purple and hot pink ones were very exotic and captured her attention.
After walking the shop strip the girls played on the beach next to Haystack Rock for three hours straight! They were exhausted and hungry and so we ended the day with dinner at the Lumberyard Grill.

aaronscoolbeachair
Aaron played in the ocean as much as the girls or more on Saturday and he got this cool hair-do from the saltwater, sun and wind- so I forced him to hold still by this railroad shack and let me snap the shutter a couple of times.
(can you see the color of his lips? no chapstick- no photoshop- nothing- and he has that color of lips! no fair no fair no fair)
an evening in nehalem
Just north of our beach house in Wheeler was the small town of Nehalem, where we found friendly people and a delicious dinner on Saturday night.
As usual, the girls were done eating way before us and so our waitress at the Pizza Garden let them out onto the deck to play. And somehow they decided it was time to perform all of their dance skills for the people watching them from inside.
oregon coast
Without realizing it, we began a summertime tradition, five years ago, of vacationing on the Oregon coastline. We took Myka as a nine month old and have been almost every summer since. There are a slew of quaint little seaside towns and expansive beaches to visit- and now we live so close! Last weekend we took the girls on a getaway in our new Passat.
(look at Aaron and his budding composition skills- he took this of Myka and he used the rule of thirds...)
In the tiny town of Wheeler, on the corner of 1st and Spruce, you can find this cute white beach house where we stayed.
And we got some sunny days believe it or not!

seattle temple tantrum
I took the girls to the temple last Thursday where we walked the grounds and had a lovely experience with Haily and one of her tantrums...
It began here under the tree when she refused to put her tounge back in her mouth for the shot.
Then escalated on the grass when Myka and I tried to make her laugh.
Oh no, there goes her dress...
and her modesty!
And here is the back of her after I had to remake her little dress because she pulled the ribbon out of the casing- and of course she wouldn't turn around for the fashion show! That little booger!
Anyway- Myka behaved pretty well and let me take some pics of her- oh goodness! My little redheads!
