love fairy
'Valentimes Day' (as my Haily says) is coming! Here is 'love fairy'. She is a 5x7 pencil and watercolor illustration on acid free paper. There are a couple of her for sale at www.mariarts.etsy.com. She looks especially nice in a white wood frame with light pink mat.
I actually mean to sell her in a mat and frame- (I haven't quite figured out how to price out and buy whole sale frames-any suggestions from my girlfriends?)

happy mlk jr. day!
Happy MLK Jr. day! It is cool that we have this day to remember and to recommit to the words of Reverend King in his famous address at the Washington Monument. For FHE we watched him on YouTube. Chills ran through me, as always, when he speaks about his four children being judged not on the color of their skin but by the content of their character. So- why the picture of me and my mom and dad- you may ask? Because parents and family are the main teachers of racism or of love for mankind. My parents, Janine and Eric have been great examples to me of love and compassion for all people. I want to pass this example on to my kids. That means that this day shoudn't be used as just a vacation day- to go skiing or shopping or indulging in one's own wants- hopefully we can use it as a day to remember and relearn what this great man meant for us to learn. There, I'm done, now just let me step off this soap box here... ;)
steamy supermarket romance novellas
Thor and Lindsey in a passionate, shirt losing embrace. (Aaron would only have to gain like, 30 lbs of muscle to get that chest, right?)
I accidentally (OK, maybe not exactly accidentally) picked up a steamy romance novel at Fred Meyer the other day while Haily and I were getting some groceries. Oops. And of course I accidentally found the exact page where all the bodice ripping is described in elegant and tantalizing words that made my eyes widen and my pulse speed up... and then Haily interrupted, 'Momma, what princess is in that book?' Thank you sweet little Haily for saving mommy from certain sinful destruction as she reads all about Thor, yes, that was his name, and Lindsey- the princess she was asking about- except in this fairytale- Princess Lindsey gets more than a rescue from her prince....OK I'll stop. Sheesh! Note to self: No more perusing the book section at Fred Meyer.
