We celebrated the 4th in Utah with the Provo Parade and a great family gathering at Becky and Brian's in Mapleton. Myka and Haily and their little cherry bums had a blast, needless to say. (Check out the heavy duty waterballoon sling shots that the kids played with for about two hours!)

Thirteen years since that picture! Happy Anniversary Mr. Gary! I have loved sharing life with you so far. Thank you for being such a loving, loyal and steadfast husband. I love you. (And I love that this picture has you licking your lips after tasting the wedding cake neither of us got a piece of!)

handmade

When Josy was born she got, like, 11 baby blankets from dear friends and family, many of them quilts that were made by the giver. I really like that idea- giving handmade gifts- I don't know, it just seems cool. And so I have now learned to put together a simple baby blanket (thank you Bronwyn) and am so happy to send this one out to my girlfriend's new baby in Utah!!

There he is- oh my cute husband- I miss him. My brother Ryan and I watched 'The Lovely Bones' last night and it made me think of Aaron and how he loves his girls. Suzy Salmon, the murdered girl in the movie, also kept reminding me of Myka...I tried not to 'lose it' crying every five minutes through the entire thing. (Stanley Tucci as the killer sociopath was terrificly evil).

California! The girls have been waiting and waiting to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Stockton. My parents are such fun and energetic grandparents- the girls have the time of their lives when we visit. Sunday was hot and lazy so I took Myka and Haily on the walk I used to walk everyday to and from my old elementary school. (Of course I took my camera...)

And as we walked I kept trying and trying to imagine raising the girls in Cali...I can't quite picture it yet...Aaron has an eternal crush on this state and really wants to be here in a year or less...

aislyn & port orchard

Here is our cheerful and loving friend, Aislyn who we visited last week in her new house in Port Orchard, WA.


Aislyn's mom, Bronwyn, is having a new adventure raising chickens. My Myka spent about 30 minutes glued to the coop, watching and feeding the young hens.


Cute girls! (It has been a year since Bronwyn gave me her old sewing machine- and I have just barely started liking the dresses I make- this calico print dress was made especially for Aislyn and her huge blue eyes.)
